As someone who loves words I sometimes fall in love with a word and journal based on the word. On this journal spread I started with the word: Juxtaposition. Using flowers and light soft colors to decorate a page that I used war and crime related photos.

It is unsettling to view and at first glance you don’t realize the reason. But after a few seconds it begins to make sense that the two competing themes are the reason.

I like this spread because it evokes a mood that is conflicting and yet not immediately identifiable.
Art should evoke a mood or an emotion. And it doesn’t matter if it is positive or negative. Just that it draws you in and makes you think.
