A color explosion – Or how I play with alcohol inks in my journal

Practicing for my big butterfly painting I wanted to freehand some stylized butterflies.

What better place than my journal. I managed to record the making of one of the pages and here is the video:

And on the big butterfly painting on canvas…

I remembered to capture a picture of the drawing with only some of the outlining completed:

This canvas is 18″ x 24″ x 1.5″

Here is the first layer of paint:

And then I decided I wanted to tone it all down a few notches:

My butterfly painting was complete last night, but today I have decided it needs just a bit more so I’m off to play a bit.
