• It’s My Blog Right?!

Posted on March 11, 2010 by in Blog

If you are a regular reader around these parts then you know that I don’t rant. In fact, if you run a search you will not see a single rant post.

This is my first true rant post. It fits with my current frame of mind, with what I am painting lately, and frankly it’s about time I got a little bit angry.

Anger is a healthy emotion, a natural human emotion and can be used to fuel you to do bigger and better things. If your smart about how you use and express it.

What else do I not normally do here on my blog (or in my real life) : You won’t see any posts here where I point my finger at someone else and call them out. Basically I am a live and let live kinda gal. Basically.

As this is my blog I have the right to rant here if I choose to. Yep. It’s my blog. I pay for it, I designed it, set it up and maintain it. “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to” sort of thing.

If I decided to make a huge rant on my blog about anyone, everyone, I can.

If said person decided to show up to defend themselves I would welcome it. If other idiots show up and try to jump in and defend said person I would delete their comment. Defend or attack the content, but a stupid popularity contest my blog is not.

    What I will not do:

I will not rant about something, couch it as something else, and then play the ‘suck up fool’ to the one I ranted about. WTF? Here’s the real deal:

If I am not for myself, who will be for me?
If I am not for others, who am I for?
    And if not now, when?
    ~ The Talmud

When you are going to rant then do it, mean it, own it and take your punches. That is what ranting is all about. Wishy washy follow up and name dropping for comments/ traffic is not a proper rant.

But be clear about it, be honest, and don’t back peddle. Change your mind and say so publicly, that’s fine. But to name names and then turn around and say gee, that isn’t really what I meant to do? Bullshit.

Next up will be a post about the word assume. I love this word. I have seen it twisted on the hapless so many times and I am totally wise to the game. The game is called bullshit, and I’m calling attacks based on the word assume as just that, it’s bullshit and a stupid way to try to get out of answering the damn question.
