I am still awaiting Miss Muse to make her presence known for more than a few minutes. Since I wasn’t really inspired by anything in particular I just grabbed some scraps, glued them down and started doodling.
These are not really mandalas but they do have a bit of a mandala feel to them.
I just finished staining a piece of wood a pink-orange, coated it with polyurethane and then will start creating a collage. Since I am still waiting for she who shall not be tamed, and in general some inspiration, I have taken down the mixed-media book (drug) of my choice and am letting Beryl inspire me. I love all of the rich, gold edged, super tiny bits of detail that she creates. Not to mention her sense of color!
This will be another of my hand drawn Japanese butterflies with hefty doses of Beryl’s style from her book Mixed-Media Explorations.
Wish me luck! I never seem to get enough of the right details to come close to Beryl’s perfection; I damn well enjoy the pursuit though.
Ps: I am uploading the video for this journal page to YouTube as I post this. If you are interested in the process check out my channel later tonight. It might have music, or it might not!
These do have a mandala-like quality to them. I’m lovin’ the colors and all of the details bleeding through.
