• Happy 4th of ‘Fireworks Bonanza’ for GPP

    Crusade # 42 Strip Ease (Yes, I realize I misspelled Independence, don’t care though ;) )

This page spread was created for Green Paper Press Street Team. I love torn paper so this was right up my alley! The 4th is such a nightmare in my neighborhood. I feel as if I have lost sight of the purpose of the holiday due to the obnoxious behavior of my neighbors at this time. That and the same thing that happens on New Year’s Eve. I am so glad to be leaving this house and all of the annoyance this neighborhood has provided.

I created two page spreads for this crusade and will post the second page next!

  1. Christy – I didn’t notice you included two links at first, but I have added both to the list now. I do love the components of this piece. Sorry to hear the fireworks set off by your neighbors has taken away the special meaning of the day. Dang. Yay that you are moving! Good luck with that, and here is to future July 4ths and New Years that are back to being celebrations, not nuisances. Thanks for sharing your work with the team – and as I said in your other entry – a journal is a great place to vent!

  2. Cath S says:

You sound like I feel about Guy Fawkes here. Grrrr.

  3. Eve says:

I feel for you! I’ve come to dread holidays that go hand in hand with fireworks.

Isn’t it ironic that you can purchase fireworks right in the grocery stores but it is illegal to set them off?! How ridiculous is that?

  4. dymphie says:

anothe firework disliker chiming in… I feel for you. Good luck on the house moving. Your journal pages are a real outlet, great job!

  5. Jane says:

Beautiful pages! and a great way to ‘vent’. I wish you good luck with your move.

  6. Maureen says:

Ah I hope your new home gives you some semblance of serenity. Good take on the challenge though. Grrrrrr.

  7. Helen says:

Powerful pages. I hate fireworks, especially when I am outside. From behind a window they can be beautiful, though.

  8. Great page, I don’t know why some people combine fun and destruction.

  9. regina says:

great way to let off some steam

  10. Brigitte says:

Again pages filled with emotion, beautiful ! And I hate fireworks too, and so does my dog … We only have it New Years Eve, but recently our neighbours had a little ‘party’ and decided to use some leftovers … Now I have a dog who is too scared to walk in the dark, will take weeks for her to recover. Bleg hate it !
