The most common thread I hear about my portraits are how much the eyes seem to speak to the viewer. ![]()
I have long teased or perhaps threatened to paint just the eyes.
“Eyes are the keys to the soul” or any variation of the popular saying always comes to mind.
If you look at the more modern, consumer oriented idea of a woman, you think of beauty (most often cosmetically enhanced). And I often think of the saying “A diamond is a girls best friend”. Which of course a bit ironic today since you can get more money from the gold encasing a diamond than you can for the diamond itself in most cases.
I thought I would paint something that spoke a little about these cultural stereotypes and misnomers.
Have a creative day!
So beautiful. I love the close ups!
KOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!
Oooh, too cool!
Beautiful. At first glance I thought you had used fabric. Having just begun to paint faces this month I have enjoyed painting eyes the most and looking for the expression in them.
