Work In Progress “Girl With Hat”

Initial drawing with charcoal pencil
I love taking these because what I start out with, isn’t always apparent through the different phases of painting.
Building a few highlights with soft white
(those teeth are so funny here)
I’m no where near finished and since it is my birthday I am not going to push to try to finish this today.
Initial shadows, darkest darks
If she gets done great, if not I will pickup tomorrow morning.
Adding in some medium tones
I am painting with acrylics and charcoal on canvas. Measurements: 20″ x 24″
Stopping to post at the halfway mark
Time to eat some comfort food; mashed potatoes w/gravy, green beans, biscuits and fried chicken.
