• A Bit of Botanical

As part of this new direction I am going in I sat down today and finger painted a background over some scrap paper.

Then a friend let me know one of my collectors was selling off her art collection and that two of my abstract paintings were a part of that listing here and here.

When I went to look I realized she had listed them under the type: botanical. Hmmm that got me to thinking about the painted page in front of me and thus I painted a botanical painting. This is a bit (not quite realistic) of how my ‘Little Gem Magnolia’ looks when the buds are just about to open.

Of all of the things I shall miss after living here for 5 years it will be my magnolia tree and my gardenia bush. But mostly the magnolia tree. Especially this year after two sweet doves built a nest in it to raise their young.

Imagine this little tree, so loved by me, with a little nest filled up with hope, and now empty.

I must remember to get a photo of that nest in my tree before I move away from here.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
