A Commissioned Painting | Cherry Blossoms

My daughter’s personal symbol is that of a bunch of cherry blossoms. Recently she has returned home from living out of state and has taken an interest in expanding her art collection with items that are more meaningful to her. She recently commissioned a diptych of a branch of cherry blossoms.

This is the work in process. I am halfway done and so far she loves the set of paintings. At first I wasn’t certain about creating only one branch, but I now feel it was the right choice to make.

I really am enjoying the mix here of watercolor effects (done with acrylics) and the standard painting brushstrokes. I will post the completed piece later this week. And will probably offer a few cropped sections from the painting as prints.
