Playing with Famous Faces

As a portrait artist I find I enjoy painting a strong character filled face. As someone who enjoys painting women specifically this can sometimes be a challenge when choosing famous faces to paint.

So many of the modern women of today have every photo retouched, only allow photos when they are at their best. There are times where I wish I could freeze frame an interview or movie and paint from that so as to get a more natural expression.

One famous face that has loads of strength and character is Madonna. I really enjoyed painting her in this pose with that great golden hair she had at the time of the photograph.
