Current Sketches in my Art Journal

I am joining in with a group of artists who are posting sketches in their sketchbooks. I use my art journal as my main location for all of my sketching/ drawing practice so I will begin sharing that under the category of Drawing.

Here are a handful of sketches currently in my journal. Many of them will turn into completed journal pages and some of them will eventually be the inspiration behind paintings.

I do not sketch only in pencil. I sketch in pencil, pen, marker, ink (with brushes), watercolor and paint. I sketch most often while watching television or when waiting (in the car, in an office, anywhere I have to sit and wait for an extended period of time). I rarely set a specific time to just sit and sketch. I always have a bag of supplies with me for my art journal and when I don’t want to work on a specific page I tend to just draw on other pages. Some of those drawings will become art journal pages, some will be covered with paint or other things later on.

The WP Sketchbook group will be prompt driven so hopefully I will be posting sketches of things other than just faces and flowers in the coming weeks.
