• Hot Glue Art in my Journal

Posted on August 8, 2011 by in Art Journals, Mixed-Media

I surf YouTube the way other people surf blogs. I am watching a video, see a new video in the favorites and follow that on down the YT trail. I can spend hours doing it. Today though I ran into one of those videos that made me hit pause, grab supplies, watch a bit more, create with collected supplies, watch more, create more, subscribe!

I made this in my art journal today based on artist Tim Coffey’s video about creating a cereal box canvas. I still plan to try it on a box, and I also plan to try and make some mini journal books from those pesky ad magazines I receive in the mail all the time.

But I had to hurry and give the hot glue a try.

I would say it was a success and I recommend giving it a go if you have the needed supplies!
Here is a link to Tim’s video if you are curious: Cereal Box As Canvas

    Happy Creating!

I love it! very nice. I tried to do a project that Tim Coffee showed on his youtube, My family laughed at it so I threw it away. But I will try again, especially seeing this. Only problem is, I have kind of a cool hot glue gun, so it hardens up really fast. I think maybe that is why my last attemp was awful. LOL. I am following through Wild Precious Coffee House. TFS

My family would do things similar to that when I first started. Some have really come around, others still think it is just a ‘silly hobby’. I simply do not show some of them my work. Having artist friends online to show my work to also makes a huge difference! It is a great support network. Especially WPS!

  2. Followed this lead from your friend prospurring (ann). What a great find on YT! Thanks for sharing. Will try and give it a go….
