Lost in texture – Art journal page

I titled this page sunset even though it isn’t really a sunset scene. But the colors read like the most amazing warm summer sunset.

Playing with both watered down paint and heavily textured scraps. Nothing new and yet I continue to examine and play with these two concepts.

A lot of art journaling is happening as I try to work out my intentions. I feel a need for a new direction. A new focus. Not as much in my art as in the business side of things.

Like many artists I problem solve as I work. Which I think is why I am pushing two different types of art into one. A way of working out the two very different sides of being an artist. The private, in studio, art of creation and the public personna, branding, and the marketing of yourself outside of the studio.

It is hard. It is confusing. And for me, at the moment, a bit frustrating.
