This painting was born from watching older video coverage of the protests from the sixties and seeing the battles being waged worldwide today.
Listening to a woman speaking from Libya I was moved by her vow that the people would never stop watching, never stop demanding peace and liberty. It was such a moving moment and the hope and strength combined on her face and in her voice is the stuff our humanity is made of.
Painted with acrylics and inks with a plaster base over canvas board.
