Two Hearts – Another art journal page

Late last night, just as I was about to head for bed I was told to go and take a look at the Occupy Oakland livefeed. I sat there watching police officers repeatedly set off tear gas into a crowd of peaceful protestors.

If you thought you had any rights provided to you under our constitution you should have been there watching last night. Then you would know that our rights are just an urban myth at this point.

We need to take our rights back. We need to demand this for ourselves and for our children. The future of our people, the future of our country demands it. It seems to me we are of two hearts in this country.

We need to get back to being of one heart. Of one mind. Of a peaceful nation who does not harm each other. And we need to do this now.
