Trying to be something that doesn’t come natural to you is exhausting. I know because I have tried. Quite a few times actually.
It isn’t until I realize that I am doing it that I realize how exhausted I am. In that moment I am forced to acknowledge it. Forced to drop the pretenses, drop the persona of what others expect, and just get back to being me.
Being me means sharing, it means talking about humanity, it means creating, it means experimenting in art, it means being a silly dork, it means being wise and naive all at the same time.
Because that is just me. And when I give myself a few moments of clarity I remember that I happen to like who I am. And I don’t want to be anyone other than who I am!
Materials: Acrylics, texture medium, pen, oil pastel
Colors: Again, pretty much my entire palette. To learn what my palette contains you can join my artists community Art Geeks and look at prompt #9 Color!
Smiles remembering that the other day I made a post to your Facebook saying Thank you for being YOU! I really believe we should say that often to the people in our lives who are loving and caring and sharing! Each of us are different and each gives special parts of ourselves and it is wonderful to be thanked for just being YOU! Being true to who you are! Love you Christy!
This is gorgeous Christy. I love how your palette just blends seamlessly. I want to start trying to paint faces soon- no idea where to start yet & Im only starting to learn to draw them. Practised a bit today waiting for school to finish
Christy, the paragraph above about “Being me” is fantastic. What a wonderful way to describe yourself. No wonder you like yourself just the way you are! We too often try to live our lives trying to please others and going against how we really feel. You go girl!!!! Love the page too. I’ll have to try to write about being me. That will take some thought. Thanks for the incentive. *HUGS*
I like you and dont even know you. I like that you are so giving with your art, and the way you make the videos , they help every artist who
is trying to create. I loved the spray ink ones, because I always wondered how to do that, so thank you
nice pages
yeah, i can relate…
being someone you arent really, its exhausting
and anyway you’re beautiful just how you are
There is no one I would want you to be than YOU!!! I love it when you are REAL Christy! Fantastic pages and writing!
Aww thanks everyone. As someone said on FB it is a natural progression that we go through as we grow and evolve {albeit a sometimes painful progression}
