• DAJP – Listening To The World

Posted on December 8, 2011 by in Art Journals, Blog, Featured

One of my favorite things about Monday morning {and everyday during the week actually} is watching my daily news program Democracy Now. I love it because it covers world news in depth, not those 5 minutes of a clip or quick coverage you get from the standard news programs.

I also spend that time having my coffee and working in my art journal. So a lot of my art journal pages are about current world events.

This page was directly about what was happening to the economic fabric of Italy. Seeing the devastation of greed and the lack of accountability for those who made horrible decisions.

Seeing the attempts to turn the ‘payment’ of it all onto the backs of the populace who didn’t make those decisions or gain from those decisions.

I watch it all and I listen to what real people say. I listen to the experts and I listen to the facts. But most of all I listen to the stories of humanity.

Well done Christy. It’s great that you added the link. At a time when factfinding is so difficult it’s crucial to have artists and others sharing information and promoting truth. Your art is stimulating and packs a powerful punch. It’s a great tool to promote social and political awareness and change. Thanks for making a difference.
