• DAJP # 14 Telling Stories

Posted on January 14, 2012 by in Art Journals, Blog, Featured

What was your favorite childhood story book? I bet it had some type of illustration or pictures in it.

I like to think of art journals as story books. The story of an artists life. And yet many times we just create the art, and then we add the journaling. Or at least that is how I typically do it.

But lately I have been drawn to something a little different. Drawn to trying to tell a story with the art and then adding journaling to supplement the story.

Not to supplement the art; but the story the art is telling.

And for those who read comics maybe they would tell me that is what a comic novel is? I don’t know. But I do know it is so much fun it should probably be illegal somehow!
