This is the inside cover page of my new layered journal.
This was the first face that I combined acrylics and oils on. The initial painting was actually watercolor. Then I added acrylics over that and finally did the final blending with oils.
I love how oils blend and soften a face. I get the best skin from using oil paints.
This is the closed foldout page and you can see how the colors transition from the cover page and then transition still over onto the next page. Really loving this.
I am also trying to use only my own imagery in this journal. Well, except for the illustrations that will be on some of the pages already. But I am trying not to add any papers or images that are not of my own making.
And I am using all of my own stencils as well. Even the collage bits I am using are of my own making. It will be interesting to see how this pushes me to create more of my own elements along the way.
this is just gorgeous Christy and really interesting how you are transitioning from watercolor to acrylic to oil all in one piece. I love her hair and her skin, the whole page really – lovely.
I agree with Louise, just lovely.
